Originally created for steaks but eventually made it onto veggies, chicken and even turned into a marinade. Try it and let me know what you think.

This spice rub was originally created to season Rib eye steak, (my favorite cut of steak), but eventually made it's way into my chicken dishes, veggie dishes and I even created a marinade. It has been tested over and over by my hungry husband and shared with my family and friends. Try it and if you like it, post a comment or share a picture!

This spice rub is slightly spicy from the cayenne pepper and the blend of seasonings just compliments steak so well.
Mimi's House Seasoning
1 tbs sea salt
1 tbs freshly ground black pepper
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs onion powder
1 tbs smoked paprika
1/2 tbs cayenne pepper*
Place all spices into a plastic bag or bowl. Mix all ingredients until distributed evenly. Place in a glass jar.
To season steaks, sprinkle liberally and lightly pat onto steaks until completely covered with seasoning. Approximately 2 tsp per lb of meat.
*If you do not like cayenne or cannot handle the heat, simply omit. The spice rub is still delicious without it.
This recipe can be adjusted for smaller or greater quantity. It is equal parts the first 5 ingredients and 1/2 part the last ingredient.
